The Foster Four Foundation
Bennie Foster has a four point platform that supports the agenda to ReIMAGINE Mississippi, and put us in position to advance from the poorest district in the state, to a national leader. By implementing policies focused on these four issues, we will systematically transform our district into a hotspot for investment and development while restoring trust in our leadership.
Education
We must improve our educational system by eliminating financial waste, prioritizing the needs of our students, parents, and teachers over the agendas of politicians and special interests. We must be intentional about programs that connect students with career paths and workforce opportunities as early as middle school. Additionally, we must ensure our education system has feasible alternatives for students who may not learn at the same pace as others or require a different environment. We have to make sure our tax dollars are working for the student and the parent, not just the government.
Economic Development
We must cultivate economic opportunities in our district by connecting small businesses, entrepreneurs, and workforce development initiatives with the resources and funding they need. We cannot afford to have millions of dollars left on the table because nobody knew how to access it. We must embrace new ideas and innovations, and seek ways to utilize our state’s many assets and natural resources to produce economic growth and attract investment.
Public Health
Our district is currently facing food deserts, maternal healthcare deserts, and even mental health deserts. This means tens of thousands of residents do not have immediate access to these resources, and often have to travel over 50 miles to reach them. By investing in projects and creating a solution friendly environment, we can end many of these deserts by attracting fresh food markets, birth support workers, mobile health centers, and mental health professionals.
Government Accountability
By implementing and advocating for policies and systems that create transparency from our government, we will work to restore trust and eliminate fraud waste and abuse at the local, state, and federal level. By doing this, we can increase the responsible stewardship of our tax money, saving billions of dollars which can be invested into our district. We will also work from a Mississippi first policy, rejecting spending billions on foreign aid and wars while we have needs that are going unmet right here at home.
Policy Positions
-
Bennie Foster is a seasoned educator who has worked in both the public and private school systems. He believes that tax money paid by parents towards their child’s education should be well accounted for and follow the student.
If a parent wants to transfer their student to another district, or even choose an alternative education method to best serve their child, they should not be punished or forced to pay into a system they do not reap the benefits of.I believe it is possible to have strong public schools while providing parents alternative options when the traditional path may not serve their student best.
-
Every data center is different. Bennie Foster believes that we should evaluate each project on its own merits, demanding accountability and transparency throughout the process. We must allow innovation and free enterprise to flourish while also ensuring we have reasonable regulation to protect the health of the community.
-
As a man of strong Christian faith, Bennie Foster believes every human life is a gift from God - and is inherently valuable, and worthy of protection. He believes life begins at conception, when unique DNA is created.
While Foster does not support elective abortion, he does believe exceptions should be allowed in the case of saving the life of the mother, and miscarriage.
He believes rather than spending tax dollars funding organizations like planned parenthood which focus on abortion, we should invest in resources that support mothers and their babies from birth throughout postpartum, as well as removing red tape to make adoption an easier option.
Additionally, Foster believes fathers must be held accountable for their part in the baby’s life - and held accountable if they pressure a mother to have an abortion. By holding men to the same standard, we encourage them to be present for the mother and their child rather than using abortion as a way to escape consequences for their actions.
-
Foster believes every sovereign nation must have sovereign borders. The law must be respected, and because we are a nation of immigrants, we must ensure that immigrants come through legal channels, so we do not disrespect the effort made by those who come here legally.
Foster also believes we must have accountability for our immigration enforcement officers, and supports requiring body cams, increased training, and better vetting of new ICE agents to ensure no rights are being violated. -
Foster believes we must maintain a strong defense through our military. Yet, he believes we must focus our funding and defense resources on our immediate safety and interests.
We must not fight proxy wars on behalf of other nations as the world’s police, nor should we send billions of dollars to aid other countries while our own people struggle. We must have a foreign policy that puts Americans first.
