Bennie Foster is the independent candidate for Mississippi’s 2nd U.S. Congressional District in 2026. As an independent candidate, Foster is not beholding to any party, and is uniquely positioned to represent the voice and the needs of our district without the pressure of partisan politics and party loyalty.
If elected, Foster will become the 2nd active Independent in the U.S house of representatives, and the only independent Congressman out of the four Mississippi house districts. This gives a great deal of leverage to our district, requiring both parties to court his vote without a guarantee - allowing Foster to negotiate the best deals for his constituents in MS-02.
The Vision
ReImagine Mississippi
Bennie Foster’s vision is to ReIMAGINE Mississippi. The phrase is more than a campaign slogan - it’s a movement. Foster’s goal is to inspire every Mississippi to ReImagine their image of our state and the second congressional district. He believes we should begin to imagine our state as prosperous, unified, desirable, and capable. Imagine a Mississippi where your elected officials serve you, rather than themselves. Where they support projects that benefit the state even if they don’t personally benefit or receive credit.
Rather than accept the status quo, Bennie Foster is challenging every Mississippian to think bigger when it comes to what we can accomplish in our state and to be the solution to the problems we are facing right now - without waiting for government to save us. This vision extends far beyond his campaign for congress, and is part of the driving force behind many of his community and business initiatives.

The Mission
Foster Our Future
In order to ReIMAGINE Mississippi, Bennie Foster believes we must foster our future. We cannot keep holding onto the past, gatekeeping resources and opportunities, and passing on growth for the sake of comfort and familiarity. Mississippi must have an intentional, comprehensive strategy that prioritizes education, economic growth, public health, and true accountability from leadership.
We must stop the brain drain by enacting policies that retain our students and best talent. We cannot afford to be left behind as the world moves forward. Foster wants the next generation of Mississippians to have a seat at the table - rather than being told “wait your turn”. It’s time for right representation, right now. No more ball hogging while our district keeps losing. It’s time to step into our future.
The Plan
Foster believes that great success is not a secret, it’s a system. Mississippi has been facing a series of systemic challenges that have been going on for more than a century. Until new systems are implemented that can support the growth we need, we will be unable to build to capacity and truly fulfill our potential in this state.
Foster believes rather than focusing all his effort on political agendas and emotionally charged rhetoric, his job as a congressman is to put people in position to move the ball forward. By setting up systems of leaders in each county and community in our district, we will expand the reach beyond one man, and allow the constituents to receive the help they need without unnecessary red tape and delays.
In addition to building strong relationships with community leaders in the district, Foster is looking to fully staff his congressional cabinet. By putting an emphasis on district directors, he seeks to ensure every member of his district has physical access to someone from his office in order to hear their concerns, and provide solutions in a timely manner. Foster wants to put people over politics, and ensure that his policy is informed by what his constituents truly need.
